A bit of a departure here.
Ben Yagoda has not written a book about baseball (yet). Nor has he written a song or made a film about the game.
But he is a super fan and has written reviews of others’ books about the game.
Close enough for jazz.
I wanted to speak with him on a more technical level, about the writing more than the sport. As a former English professor whose focus was journalism (Jeff Pearlman was the sports editor of the school paper when Yagoda was at the University of Delaware), I wanted to get his take on the process of writing more than the game itself.
