Wait for it (Bob Uecker)

January 20, 2025

In the latest Baseball Best-Seller post, I wrote at length about a self-published quickie about the late Bob Uecker. In fact, two more titles have been released since then.

Well, it didn’t take long for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel — a more “legitimate” source — to put out Bob Uecker: The Life and Career of the Milwaukee Brewers’ Legendary Broadcaster.

From the publisher’s website:

Filled with rare photographs and insider anecdotes, this collector’s piece lets you relive the magic of Uecker’s calls, his self-deprecating humor, and the heart he brought to every game. Own a piece of baseball history and celebrate the man who made Milwaukee fans laugh, cry and fall in love with America’s pastime.

"Bob Uecker: The Life and Career of the Milwaukee Brewers’ Legendary Broadcaster," a 144-page book from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, chronicles the life and career of a backup catcher who batted .200 to a beloved figures in baseball who transcended the game.

The book is available for pre-sale for $39.95 but you can get 20 percent off by ordering from Uecker.PictorialBook.com.
